Future high density magnetic recording relies on the ability to produce small high coercive
particles. Recently, a solution phase chemical procedure has been developed to synthesize
monodispersive FePt nanocrystals with controlled size and composition. 1 The
magnetocrystalline anisotropy of the particles after annealing was found to be of the order of
