We present a coherently combined laser amplifier with 16 channels from a multicore fiber in
a proof-of-principle demonstration. Filled-aperture beam splitting and combination, together
with temporal phasing, is realized in a compact and low-component-count setup. Combined
average power of up to 70 W with 40 ps pulses is achieved with combination efficiencies
around 80%.
