This paper presents a new mathematical model to solve a facility layout problem in cellular
manufacturing systems (CMSs) with stochastic demands. The objective is to minimize the
total costs of inter and intra-cell movements in both machine and cell layout problems
simultaneously. This model depends on the attitude of the decision maker towards
uncertainty in such a way that the optimal layout in CMSs can be changed significantly. A
