Abstract
This paper focused on the essential part of the RF energy harvesting system by designing a rectifier circuit capable of harvesting the ambient RF energy to power the wearable medical devices. The bridge rectifier, along with the impedance matching network, has been developed. The simulated results show that conversion efficiencies of 38, 69.22 and 78.77% for the input power of −10, 0 and 5 dBm consecutively at 2.45 GHz. The maximum RF-DC conversion efficiency of 84.63% has been accomplished when the input power was 10 dBm at 1.5 kΩ load resistance. The Simulated DC output voltage of this rectifier is 3.563 V which is adequate to energize low-power medical devices.
