The activity concentrations of 238 U, 232 Th and 40 K in riverbank soil along the Chao
Phraya river basin was determined through gamma-ray spectrometry measurements made
using a hyper-pure germanium detector in a low background configuration. The ranges of
activity concentrations of 238 U, 232 Th and 40 K were found to be 13.9↔ 76.8, 12.9↔
142.9 and 178.4↔ 810.7 Bq kg− 1, respectively. The anthropogenic radionuclide, 137 Cs,
