PURPOSE: To assess the feasibility and efficacy of the COX-2 inhibitor celecoxib in
conjunction with preoperative chemoradiation for patients with locally advanced rectal
cancer in a double blind randomized phase II study. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Thirty-
