The internet begun to profoundly affect how financial services are delivered. On the one
hand, the Internet affords convenience, price transparency, broader access to information,
and lower cost; on the other hand, financial services are data-intensive and generally
require no physical delivery. Combining the two should give the perfect environment for new
entrants to build substantial businesses, go up the value chain, and compete on price.
