At 55 days after flowering, the fruit bunches were drenched with solutions of Ethrel
[ethephon], 2, 4-D, IAA, NAA or GA3 at a range of concentrations. Data are tabulated on
numerous fruit physical and chemical indices. Ethrel at 0.25 and 0.5 ml/litre and especially
GA3 at 100 mg/litre were very effective in increasing bunch and fruit weight and the pulp:
peel ratio. Ethrel at 0.5 ml/litre gave maximum sugar: acid ratio.
