A study was conducted during kharif 2003 and 2004 to determine the effect of weed control
on the yield and economics of mung bean (cv. SML 668) in Punjab, India. Two hand
weedings practiced at 25 and 40 days after sowing (DAS) resulted in the lowest weed
population at harvest, which was at par with preemergence application of pendimethalin
(0.56 kg/ha)+ one hand weeding at 30 DAS or preemergence/preplant application of
