The helical cruciform fuel (HCF) is developed for the commercial benefit of the nuclear
power plant. The most distinct features of this fuel are self-mixing and self-supporting. This
paper focuses on the transverse mixing characteristics of a 5× 5 HCF assembly by the tracer
method. The KCl solution is used as tracer and its concentration is measured by the WMS
