Objective: To investigate the relation between outcomes of children with diabetic
ketoacidosis (DKA)-related cerebral edema and baseline clinical features and therapeutic

Methods Eligible patients were 18 years of age or younger and had been examined at the
study centers between 1982 and 1997. Factors examined included baseline clinical
features, biochemical abnormalities at admission and during therapy, neurologic signs and
