The introduction and evolution of the Internet of Things (IoT) devices give way to more interconnected living, communication, transmission, and storage data. Despite its contribution to the technological advancement, IoT devices have subject lately of numerous attacks at different layers which causes loss of information and financial stability for most implementing companies. Although mainstream cryptographic algorithms are available, the limited computation power and storage medium of these devices make security implementation a pressing challenge. This study assessed the feasibility of an enhanced XXTEA (eXXTEA) on IoT devices to be able to verify that hardened cryptosystem can still be implemented on these devices based on time and space complexity. The result shows that the eXXTEA and original XXTEA has O(n 2 ) for both their time and space complexity in the worst-case scenario. This proves that the eXXTEA is technically feasible to be implemented in securing information on IoT devices despite the addition of security features.
