Abstract Febrile ulceronecrotic Mucha–Habermann disease (FUMHD) is a rare severe
variant of pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta characterized clinically by aggressive
ulceronecrotic skin lesions associated with high fever and histologically by features typical of

The Mucha-Habermann disease is an inflammatory disease of the skin and is a variant of
pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta. We describe the case of a 64-years-old woman
who was admitted for erysipelas of the face. Despite treatment, evolution was marked by the
appearance of a necrotising ulcerative area in the centre of the erysipelas associated with
