Differences in feeding rates and digestive efficiency of alternative experimental diets
differing in cellulose or fiber and a secondary metabolite (the hydrolyzable tannin, tannic
acid [TA]) were assessed with the herbivorous burrowing caviomorph rodent Octodon degus
