The transmission characteristics of 30 MHz analogue colour tv signals are investigated
using a semiconductor laser diode at the 1.3? m wavelength. Transmission over 17 km with
40.3 dB unweighted snr is confirmed, and transmission over 30 km is feasible using a 1.3?
m laser diode and low-loss single-mode fibres.
