The problem of determining the pressure losses in helical coil is important in design and
analysis of the fluid machinery. It is well known that when a fluid flows through a curved pipe,
the flow pattern becomes more complex than that of a straight pipe because of the
generation of secondary flows due to the interaction between centrifugal and viscous forces.
