Faeces of 133 (110 exotic and 23 local) domestic fowls from Ijebu-Igbo, Ago-Iwoye and
Mamu, Ijebu North, southwestern Nigeria were analysed using floatation technique between
September and November 2012. Seven of the local fowls (from Mamu) had their Packed
Cell Volume (PCV) determined and were, at necropsy, examined for gastrointestinal
helminthes. Overall, 37.6%(50/133) of the domestic fowls had endoparasite eggs and cysts.
