Optical-resolution photoacoustic microscopy (OR-PAM) has become a popular tool in small-
animal hemodynamic studies. However, previous OR-PAM techniques variously lacked a
high imaging speed and/or a large field of view, impeding the study of highly dynamic

We present our recent progress on a super-fast photoacoustic microscopy with an ultra-wide
field of view. By using a novel polygon mirror scanner that can be immersed in water, we
have achieved a B-scan frame rate of 1000 Hz with a scanning range of at least 13 mm.
Hemodynamic responses in the whole mouse brain and ear were imaged.
