In many countries, the demand for fresh water increases rapidly. So, the seawater and brackish water desalination is a subject concern of many researchers all over the world. In this work, an attempt has been made to study the effect of reflecting materials on the productivity of a single slope solar still. In the single slope solar still, lower temperature of the water results in the decrease of the distillate output. The use of reflecting materials such as mirrors and aluminium foils in the inner surrounding walls increases the water temperature in the basin. The results indicate that use of reflecting materials, increase the Water temperature and Distillate productivity of the still.
