All the banks in the sector are offering similar type of services and nearly same products but the only difference lies in the quality of human resources they possess. Looking at the importance of having better human resources with an objective to retain them and keep them committed towards the organization the banks need to curtail the problem of turnover. Managing turnover is the biggest challenge for the human resource managers. Turnover intentions could help predict the actual turnover in the organization. In other words the turnover intentions are an antecedent to the actual turnover. It is serious problem and could be detrimental for the growth of an organization. The present study measures the turnover intentions and investigates the effect of various demographic variables on the turnover intentions of 500 employees working in the private sector banks in Punjab. Age and Education were found to have significant impact on the turnover intentions of employees in the private sector banks.
