Six SI lines with strong incompatibility reaction and one CMS line with good floral traits and
seed setting capacity were tested in Line× Tester design with six broad base testers. Mean
sum of squares of all the 42 hybrids were significant for all the seven traits studied.
Significant high GCA for earliness was recorded in the SI line, S-696 (− 2.20). Significant
