MATERIALS AND METHODS Microorganism and Culture Conditions: In this study, P.
brevicompactum ATCC 16024 was used. The culture was maintained on the potato dextrose
agar (PDA) slants. Stock cultures were stored in the refrigerator at 4 C. The spore
suspension was prepared by extracting the 3 days aged spores in sterile distilled water as
mentioned by Ardeatani et al.[20]. The spore suspension was used as the inoculum for
fermentation study carried out in the bioreactor.
