In Chapter 2 the analysis and control of largescale systems by aggregation techniques are
described. Chapter 3 concerns singular perturbation and time scale methods which are
used to obtain reduced-order models of large-scale systems. The class of systems
considered are those for which the eigenspectrum is formed by clusters of large eigenvalues
(corresponding to 'fast'modes) and clusters of small eigenvalues (corresponding to
'slow'modes).
