Stroke is the most common cause of seizures in the elderly. Antiepileptic drugs are used to
treat most patients with late poststroke seizures. The aim of this study was to evaluate the
efficacy and tolerability of levetiracetam (LEV) in patients aged 60 or older with late-onset
poststroke seizures. This prospective study evaluated patients 60 years of age or older, who
had at least two late-onset poststroke seizures and were given LEV monotherapy.
