This chapter deals with the application of MIPVU to French, a Romance language. Recently,
MIP (VU) has been used by metaphor scholars in France and Belgium to identify linguistic
metaphors in French texts and transcripts of talk (eg. Heyvaer t 2016; Ly 2011; Nicaise 2011;
Perrez & Reuchamps 2014, 2015). None of these studies, however, specifically mention
