Mats Melin is a Swedish-born traditional dancer, choreographer, and researcher, and
worked in Scotland from 1995, moving to Ireland in 2005. He is Lecturer in Dance at the Irish
World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick. He holds an MA in
Ethnochoreology (2005), and was awarded a PhD at the University of Limerick in 2012 for
his research in Cape Breton step dance.
