Coorg Mandarin is one of the renowned citrus cultivar grown in Southern India, particularly Coorg and Wynad districts of Karnataka and Kerala. The fruits are greenish to yellow in color, having tight skin with sweet in taste, whereas some cultivar are having loose skin and lesser in sweet taste. With respect to shelf life, the Coorg oranges have a longer shelf life as compared to other mandarins. Among the various abiotic and biotic factors, diseases like root rot of Phytophthora, Citrus greening, and CTV (Citrus tristeza virus) are the major limitation for its cultivation and production.
