A detailed mathematical simulation and experimental investigation of airflow in solar
chimneys is introduced in this paper. During the experiments the air speed in the chimney
was found to be dependent on the distance from the heated plate, and if the glazing was
installed far enough from the wall, the flow could not reach the glazing, decreasing the flow
rate. This phenomenon was considered when the simulation model was set up. The results
of the experiments and simulation are presented in series of graphs.
Summary
A detailed mathematical simulation and experimental investigation of airflow in solar chimneys is introduced in this paper.
