In order to determine the best of plant density and planting date on yield and its components
of Canola a field experimental was conducted in 2008 at Astara region in a Split plot factorial
in complete block design with four varieties and three replicates. Treatments were: planting

Abstract
In order to determine the best of plant density and planting date on yield and its components of Canola a field experimental was conducted in 2008 at Astara region in a Split plot factorial in complete block design with four varieties and three replicates. Treatments were: planting date (08/10/13 and 08/10/28) and two level plant density (42 and 84 plants per m2). Between varieties in all traits were observed significant difference at 1%. Between the times of planting, of all the characters significant difference were observed. The interaction between varieties and planting times was significant for all traits. Between different plant densities in terms of yield, Number of sub shoots, days to 50% flowering, number of pods per main stem and %oil, significant difference were observed. Between different plant densities of traits, days to emergence, number of pods per sub stem, no significant difference was found. The highest number of pods per sub stems, in the Global, and PF 7045 were found, which were not significantly different together. Maximum yield per plant was measured at Global, which with variety Pf 7045 showed no significant difference. Falcon was the lowest yield; there was a significant difference with other treatments.
