In this work we introduce a new method for manufacturing minimal submanifolds of
Riemannian manifolds of codimension two. For this we employ the so-called complex-
valued eigenfunctions. This is particularly interesting in the cases when the Riemannian
ambient manifold is compact. We then give several explicit examples in important cases.
