The present paper deals with the two dimensional modeling of a tool electrode that is the
wire made of brass. The objective of the present paper is to find out the temperature and
equivalent stress produced in the electrode part that is the wire in Wire EDM using ANSYS
Fluent. In the current paper, a 2D model was designed for the wire using ANSYS Fluent and
all the thermal and static structural analysis were implemented on the wire neglecting the

Abstract
The present paper deals with the two dimensional modeling of a tool electrode that is the wire made of brass. The objective of the present paper is to find out the temperature and equivalent stress produced in the electrode part that is the wire in Wire EDM using ANSYS Fluent. In the current paper, a 2D model was designed for the wire using ANSYS Fluent and all the thermal and static structural analysis were implemented on the wire neglecting the work-piece part.The temperature and equivalent stress were found out from the models and the graphs were plotted for the analysis. It was found that the temperature of the wire varies upto 5500 K.
