Neuromodulation shows increasing promise in the treatment of psychiatric disorders,
particularly obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD). Development of tools and techniques
including deep brain stimulation, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and electroconvulsive
therapy may yield additional options for patients who fail to respond to standard treatments.
