Biomimetic hybrid metal-dome− polymer-spike surfaces having controllable water droplet
adhesion on superhydrophobic surfaces are prepared by self-organization, electroless
plating, and simple peeling. The hybrid surface is characterized by affinity-driven water
droplet adhesion that is easily controlled by hydrophilic metal dome density and thermal
treatment.
