This chapter presents methods for the synthesis of magnetic nanoparticles with a special
emphasis on new and emerging methods. The scope covers, chemical, biological and
physical methods that are able to produce nanoparticles with a narrow size distribution
including elements, oxides and bimetallic particles. The methods described can prepare
