We apply photo-acoustic (PA) technique to examine plasmonic properties of 2D periodic
arrays of nanoholes etched in gold/chromium layer upon a glass substrate. The pitch of
these arrays lies in the near IR, and this, under appropriate wave vector matching conditions
in the visible region, allows for the excitation of surface plasmon polaritons (SPP) guided
