The atmospheric rf plasma discharge was successfully investigated using NaOH or HCl
electrolyte solutions as a counter electrode at different pH values. The emission intensities of
solution components, self bias, and electron density strongly depend on the pH value of
electrolyte. An addition of ethanol to the electrolyte solutions enhanced the dehydration,
which markedly promoted the emissions of solution components as well as electrons from
