A reversible interconversion-cycle, making use of the multiple dynamic properties of
bisacylhydrazones, is presented. It features photo-, metallo-and thermo-induced
configurational and conformational changes and involves reversible cation binding and
release, which is of potential interest for photo-induced metal signal generation or catalysis.
