Discussion This infection can be endogenous and result from the translocation of residential
flora modified by intestinal disease and immunodepression (in this patient due to carcinoma,
malnutrition with a BMI at 18 kg/m2, chemotherapy and corticoids) followed by fungemia and
secondary catheter infection via the bloodstream. However, this is unlikely because of
negative stool culture and the resistance to treatment despite of in vitro activity of the drug,
