Seed of 255 accessions of rice, collected from the provinces of Sind, Baluchistan and North
West Frontier Province in 1984 and 1987, maintained in the Plant Genetic Resources
Institute's gene bank were evaluated for seedborne fungi. Most of the accessions were
contaminated with species of 16 fungal genera. Alternaria and Helminthosporium spp.

Abstract
