Studies on forest diseases in Assam state (India) have demonstrated 15 fungal pathogens recorded for the first time on their respective hosts, and others comprising new fungal-host combinations for NE India. Brief notes are given on these (all cause leaf diseases): Glomerella cingulata on Mansonia dipikae and Mimusops elengi (leaf spot); Phyllachora ficuum on Ficus rumphii (tar spot of leaves); Pseudocercospora artocarpi on Artocarpus lakoocha [A. lacucha] (leaf spot); Phyllachora sp. on Michelia champaca (leaf spot); Stenellopsis sp. on Albizia procera (leaf spot); Stagonospora brideliae on Bridelia retusa (leaf spot); Puccinia sp. on Premna bengalensis (rust disease); Uredo sp. on Adenanthera pavonina (rust disease); Cerotelium fici on Ficus rumphii (rust disease); Plectronidium minor on Bambusa balcooa (leaf strips); Sirosporium sp. and Didymella sp. on Bambusa nutans (leaf strips); Pseudospiropes sp. on Bambusa tulda (tar like spot); Phaeoramularia sp. on Bambusa tulda (leaf spot); Phaeoisariopsis bambusae on Bambusa nutans (dot-like black pustules); Uredo sp. on Bridelia retusa (rust disease); Ravenelia sessilis on Albizia lebbeck (rust disease); Uredo sissoo on Dalbergia sissoo (rust disease); Uredo ehretiae on Ehretia acuminata (rust disease); Phyllachora pongamiae on Pongamia pinnata (tar spot); Ravenelia hobsoni on Pongamia pinnata (rust disease); Colletotrichum on Samanea saman [Albizia saman] (leaf spot); and Ravenelia sp. on Emblica officinalis [Phyllanthus emblica] (rust disease).
