The article describes a case of drug rash caused by sparing of the Hansen's macules in a 17-
year-old Indian boy. The patient presented with a febrile maculopapular rash with distinct
sparing of the Hansen's macules five weeks after World Health Organization multibacillary
multidrug therapy (MB-MDT) was initiated for Hansen's disease. A skin biopsy from the
spared Hansen's macule on the lower back indicated epithelioid granulomas interspersed
with lymphocytes in the upper and lower dermis.
