This study examined the Students’ Perception of the Influence of Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) on academic achievement. The final year students of the Faculties of Agriculture, Engineering, and the Department of Vocational and Technical Education, University of Benin were used for the study. Two hundred and fifty (250) students were sampled. A twenty (20) item questionnaire was designed and the reliability and validity of the instrument was assessed by experts. The data collected were analyzed using mean score and standard deviation. The findings of the study showed that SIWES influenced students’ academic performance and was relevant to their practical skill acquisition. The results showed that SIWES enhances competency of students in the workshop/laboratory, improves students’ classroom learning and creates employment opportunities. It was recommended that SIWES should be properly organized to achieve its aim.
