Biomethanation of kitchen waste is a feasible and viable option as these wastes contain
high volatile solids (VS) and total solids (TS). The total solids and volatile solids content was
16.46 and 71.46% in kitchen wastes. Studies were carried out in the laboratory using 2.5 l
amber glass bottle digesters. From the laboratory experimental results, among all the
combination of cow dung and kitchen waste in the ratio of 1: 1, 1: 2 and 2: 1, the 2: 1 ratio
