Gold (III) compounds have been synthesized In vitro to not affect normal physiological functions but to be highly cytotoxic to human tumor cell lines. Gold (III)(Au) complexes were synthesized from 2-(4-antipyrine azo)-4-nitroaniline (C17H15O3N6) as primary ligand, and oxalic acid, malonic acid and sodium pyrophosphate as secondary ligands with (1: 1) mole ratio [Au (C17H15O3N6) Cl2],[Au (C17H15O3N6)(ox)],[Au (C17H15O3N6)(ma)] and [Au (C17H15O3N6)(pyph]. The complexes were identified by elemental microanalysis, magnetic moment, mass spectroscopy, molar conductivity and melting point. The complex products had square plane geometry quantitatively measured at 610 nm at optimal reaction. Results suggested that 2-(4-antipyrineazo)-4-nitroaniline, oxalic and malonic acids and sodium pyrophosphate behave as bidentate ligands with Au (III) ion. Geometrical structure was based on data from previous techniques. We find that 2-(4-antipyrineazo)-4-nitroaniline detector can be used in spectral analysis to estimate micrograms of Gold ions as it complexes with colored solutions or sediments resulting in super absorbent peaks within calibration curves for each ion.
