This paper aims to identify and analyze characteristics of environmental permits and/or environmental approvals as prevention instruments for pollution and ecological damage. This also examines the urgency of simplifying licensing the environment as part of the ease of doing business. This paper applies the participatory empirical juridical research method, involving discussions and interviews with several related parties. This method is supported by the statutory and conceptual approach, using regulation materials and academic writings as primary sources. This paper highlights the figure of environmental approval law in the context of business licensing. However, implementing ecological approval law should be inherent in the principles of sustainable development goals (SDGs).
