Abstract
NdFeO 3 is one of the oxide alloys that can be used as a raw material for gas sensor. The NdFeO 3 have been synthesized using solid state reaction method by varying calcination temperatures of 750 C, 850 C, and 950 C for 6 h. All of the Nd 1.2 FeO 3 samples were characterized using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and x-ray diffraction (XRD) to identify their morphologies and phases. The results show that all of the samples formed major phase is NdFeO 3 and minor phase of Nd 2 O 3 and have homogenous morphology with estimating grain size is 0, 2 μm for all samples. The value of FWHM and the crystal size of Nd 1.2 FeO 3 was obtained for each sample is 0.22 º and 372 nm. The orthorhombic phase with a dominant peak at hkl (121) is an indication that material has potential application as a gas sensor.
