Background: Vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) has regulatory effects on myocardial and
vasomotor functions usually demonstrated by in vitro or isolated heart studies. We studied in
vivo effects in monocrotaline induced pulmonary hypertensive rabbits immediately after
