The purpose of this study is to investigate the benefits and challenges of e-banking channels and to determine the effects of ebanking on employees’ job security and personal development in the Sudanese banking sector. A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data from 177 employees from different bank departments. The responses were numerically quantified, and analyzed using mean and chi-square. The result shows that there is a positive relationship between the use of e-banking and job security. Also, the use of ebanking channels affects career development of employees in banks. Although e-banking channels improve customer satisfaction and decrease the need to rush to branches, employees experience difficulties when dealing with e-banking channels such as poor infrastructure, lack of technological upgrading and the lack of technical skills to manage e-banking channels. Efforts should be made by the management of Sudanese banks to contain the difficulties facing employees dealing with the channels and ensure that the use of e-banking be considered as a vehicle that supplements the work of employees in providing better services to customers and at the same time, offer employees required training to improve their career path.
