Thermoplastic polyurethane–mica composites were prepared in a Brabender Plasticorder at
180° C by melt mixing and their thermal properties were studied. The thermal stability of the
thermoplastic polyurethane improved marginally on incorporation of mica, which shifted the
decomposition temperature of the composite to a higher level, thus delaying the
degradation.©
