Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) are an emerging transmission technology for
application to wireless communications. Their accurate modeling is crucial for an effective
design. In this work, a time domain modeling is proposed that comprises two steps: first the
impulse response of the system is computed using the partial element equivalent circuit
method thus including all the couplings among the elements of the RIS, then the
communication channel is studied through a convolution-based solver in the time domain.
